I've always loved variety. I have so many random little things that I enjoy, which makes it hard to have a consistent hobby (drives Kalvin nuts). I've been trying to think of something that I could do that's a cross between a hobby & a side hustle. Something that I don't feel guilty spending money on, because it has return potential.
Although I've found that I need creative outlets (such as this blog), I am not as incredibly creative as I wish I was. I don't have the ability to draw or paint. I don't have enough imagination to write stories. So I felt a little limited on what potentials were out there.
I've been following a Bahamian artist named Katrina on Instagram (a highly recommended follow - @katrinacreates) for a year or so now. She does illustrations, painting, drawing, earrings. They're amazing. I was immediately fascinated by her polymer clay earrings. I finally decided to send her a message and just ask a simple question: how much will it realistically cost to start claying? (I recently dubbed this term... playing with clay = claying). Her response was way more informative than I could have imagined. It inspired me to give it a shot.
It has been SUCH a fun time so far, as well as a challenging time. It took about a week of working for ~6+ hours a day to finally make a pair that I felt was actually good. I am very thankful that I have found something that is creative, multi-faceted, and has the potential for some passive income!
I made an Instagram account (@oncewilddesigns) and am working on a website. Please join me in this new journey!
